• One lane of the road open only - ‘give way’ in operation
• The road is open to light vehicles, rigid heavy vehicles, or small articulated trucks - no B-Doubles
• Ongoing assessments to be undertaken by a Geotechnical Engineer to identify if any cracking or displacement has occurred
• A speed restriction to 40km/hr must remain in place
• Ongoing inspections during periods of rainfall (greater than 100mm of rainfall over 24 hours and where greater than 300mm over 7 days)
• Light weight traffic barriers have been placed on the road to keep traffic at least 1.5m away along the edge of the slip cracks
• ROAD CLOSURES likely to be triggered where greater than 150mm occurs over a 24-hour period and where greater than 350mm occurs over a 3-day period.

Old Glen Innes Road is currently closed as per the map. Dalmorton tunnel will remain open during the closures with access via Newton Boyd. Works are expected to continue for an extended period of time, please use alternative routes.

Road closed at landslip approximately 6km from Armidale Road and 3.4km from Balls Road.

Dry weather 4WD access via Fifes Creek Road.

Access to Toose Road is available via Towal Creek Road (off Armidale Road), over a natural shingle ford crossing on the Macleay River, into Towal Creek Station.

This can be used during low river flow / dry periods only. 4x4 will be required in this location.

Willis Creek Bridge Strengthening

Council has engaged a contractor to strengthen the Willis Creek Bridge on Tenterden Road. This work will remove the existing 25-tonne limit, improving the movement of goods and services between Guyra and Tingha.

Work starts Monday, 26 May 2025, and is expected to be completed by Friday, 30 May 2025, weather permitting. The bridge will be closed daily from 8:10 AM to 3:45 PM, but will remain open outside these hours and will not affect the school bus run.

Vehicle users of Tenterden Road, Mordun Dams Road, and New Valley Road between Wandsworth and Tingha will experience traffic disruptions. Please plan your trips accordingly. The strengthened bridge will support heavier vehicles, reducing costs for those reliant on heavy transport.
